Velvet Stamp

Privacy Policy

Please review this policy to understand how we handle your information.

Who we are

Velvet Stamp provides digital invitation and event-planning tools that hosts (the couple or their planner) use to organize a celebration, collect guest contact details, manage RSVPs, and send private messages and thank-you cards. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Velvet Stamp website and the guest-facing pages our hosts share with you.

Information we collect

From hosts and collaborators who create an account: name, email address, and the plans they enter. From guests, only what the host asks for and you choose to provide: your name, mailing address, email, phone number, meal and dietary notes, and RSVP responses. We also collect basic technical data (device, browser, and approximate location from your IP address) to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

To operate the celebration a host invited you to: saving the contact details and RSVPs you submit, showing them to that host, and sending the confirmation, guest-message, and thank-you emails described in this policy. We use technical data to secure the service, prevent abuse, and rate-limit lookups. We do not sell your information, and we do not use guest details for advertising.

How it is shared

Guest details you submit are visible to the host of that celebration and their invited collaborators, and to no one else. We share data with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, database, and email delivery) under agreements that limit them to that purpose. We may disclose information if required by law.

Email

We send transactional email only: a receipt when you share details, an RSVP confirmation, host notifications, collaborator invitations, host-written guest messages, and private thank-you cards. These are part of the service, not marketing. Every email is tied to a specific celebration and host.

Data retention

We keep celebration data for as long as the host maintains their account, so the plans remain available to them. A host can edit or delete guest records at any time. When an account is closed, its data is deleted on a routine schedule.

Your choices

You may ask the host of your celebration to correct or remove your details directly, since they control that guest list. You may also contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. Where required, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Security

Access to guest data is restricted to the celebration’s host and collaborators through per-account permissions, and write access is protected server-side. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if an issue arises.

Children and minor guests

The service is operated by and for adult hosts. We do not permit children under 13 to create an account or to submit their own information to us directly. Some celebrations, such as a bar or bat mitzvah, include minors as guests. In those cases the guest information a host collects, including a minor’s name, mailing address, and an email address for the minor or a parent, is provided by the adult host or by the guest’s parent or guardian, and is not collected by us from the child. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor’s information was shared without your involvement, contact the celebration’s host to correct or remove it, or reach us at privacy@velvetstamp.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date.
